Synopsis

Four shorts which tell of the four adventures of Reinette, the field mouse and Mirabelle, the country mouse. We first meet them in the countryside waiting for the magical moment of stillness between night and daybreak. We then follow them to Paris where Reinette has gone to meet Mirabelle and to take art classes. Life in Paris gets her involved with a waiter and a picture dealer both of whom are particularly talkative. Her later encounters with a beggar and a female rip-off merchant provide her with occasions to state her principles.
