About Les Films du Losange

Founded in 1962 by Barbet Schroeder to produce Eric Rohmer’s films, Les Films du Losange has always stood alongside directors from all over the world. The producer Margaret Menegoz led the company from 1975 to 2021.

Alexis Dantec and Charles Gillibert now head the company as managing director and president respectively. With passion and perseverance, it continues to grow and diversify — from production to distribution, international sales and the development of our collection.

Our collection brings together more than 325 feature films by celebrated auteurs, among them Eric Rohmer, Barbet Schroeder, Jacques Rivette, Jean-Luc Godard, Jean Eustache, Wim Wenders, Roger Planchon, Jean-Claude Brisseau, Romain Goupil, Jean-Marc Moutout and Michael Haneke (Palme d’Or 2009 for The White Ribbon, Palme d’Or 2012 and the 2013 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for Amour)… These films have been restored and digitised in 2K or 4K.

Distribution, entrusted to Régine Vial since 1986, and international sales, led by Alice Lesort, have widened the collection to further bodies of work: films by Lars von Trier, Christian Petzold, Ronit and Shlomi Elkabetz, Otar Iosseliani, Nicolas Philibert, Olivier Assayas, Léos Carax, Alain Guiraudie, Mia Hansen-Løve…

And it is with that same loyalty and commitment that we keep seeking out new voices, producing and distributing new auteurs.
